The Bilbao Choral Society, like the ABAO, suffers a cyber attack

The Choral Society has informed its members and educational community that they have suffered a cyber attack to exercise extreme caution in the use of their emails. It happened on Friday evening with the same characteristics as that affecting the ABAO.

Both associations share the same computer services company, which also works with Bilbao City Council.

The Choral Society reported the case of the Ertzaintza, which treats as a first hypothesis that the cyber attack on the two entities could stem from a security breach of the company that provides the entity’s support and computer infrastructure, including the networks and the backups.

“We are working on quantifying the damage suffered, taking the appropriate legal action and solving the problem as best we can. It is recommended that the passwords of students associated or capable of being associated with the @coraldebilbao.com domain be changed,” the Choral Society said in a statement.

At the moment, according to the entity, no incidents have been reported, a situation that it also shares with the ABAO.

The Bilbao Opera Association informed members on Saturday night that they had been the victim of a computer attack and should be careful when opening other communications. that they would not disclose personal information when asked to do so on behalf of the association.

“We have made the appropriate complaints and are following safety protocols and instructions that” the threats have not materialised.
