The case began in late May with testimony from a 24-year-old Irish woman who accused the group’s singer-songwriter of drugging and sexually abusing her after a concert in Lithuania that same month. That statement revealed the words of other young women, all of whom described more or less the same scenario.

The groupies were spotted, filmed or photographed in the front rows of concerts to allow Lindemann to make his choice before being invited backstage to parties. Some were then said to have been drugged before being abused by the 60-year-old singer.

The organizers of several concerts, especially in Munich and Berlin, where the German group had to perform on a full European tour, decided not to set up an area directly in front of the stage where the singer would have seen the young women.
