Kia highlights the EV6 GT with 585 hp and 100% electric drive as the brand’s “most powerful” model

Kia has unveiled the GT version of the EV6, a 585hp 100% electric vehicle that the company says is the brand’s “most powerful ever” and with which the company has expanded the available range of the EV6, as reported by the company in a Communication.

The electric drive system of the Kia EV6 GT has a motor with 160 kilowatts (218 hp) at the front and another one at the rear with 270 kilowatts (367 hp), bringing the combined output to 430 kilowatts (585 hp).

In this sense, the vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds, making it the “fastest Kia in history” according to the brand. In addition, it is capable of reaching a top speed of 260 kilometers per hour.

The battery is lithium-ion and polymer with a capacity of 77.4 kilowatt hours, which corresponds to a range of up to 424 kilometers. Likewise, it can boost from 10% to 80% of its charge capacity in 18 minutes with an ultra-fast connection, the company added. In this sense, the maximum charging power is 240 kilowatts with direct current.

“The combination of sports car performance, long range and ultra-fast charging makes the EV6 GT a truly exciting and capable GT in the electric age,” he said.

The dimensions of the vehicle are approximately 4,695 meters in length, 1.89 meters in width and 1,545 meters in height, while the wheelbase is 2.9 meters. The total weight of the vehicle is 2,610 kilos.

The price of the model in Spain starts at 52,800 euros in the entry-level version, while the best-equipped variant of the series reaches 74,000 euros.

Kia Iberia sold 15,324 vehicles in the first quarter of the year, up 21.4% from the same period last year, while the market share stood at 6.8%.

In this sense, 61% of its registrations corresponded to electrified units (100% electric, hybrid and plug-in hybrid), while its market share for this type of vehicle was 9%.
