Despite very mixed reviews, this science fiction film is at the top of the current rankings on Netflix.
Not all films that are entitled to a sequel are necessarily huge critical successes, quite the opposite. The proof can be found again on Netflix, which released the sequel to one of its blockbusters, which, although seen by many viewers at the time of release, did not receive good reviews from the press and audiences. The same applies to the second work, which has been at the top of the most viewed films since its release on the streaming platform.
Space opera directed by Zack Snyder, Rebel Moon Part 2: The Slasher is the sequel to the film of the same name, which was released on Netflix last December. The plot begins where we left off with the characters: Kora and her warriors fight alongside the residents of Veldt, who see their village threatened by the mother world. Each must confront their past before fighting against the kingdom’s forces.
Highly anticipated, so much so that there is a claim to a sequel, the first episode of Rebel Moon however, had not received critical support either in France or around the world. So Rebelotte for the second part, which only receives 14% positive opinions from the press, while Metacritic gives it a rating of 36/100, hardly better than the first film.
But despite these negative opinions about this sub-war of stars with Zack Snyder sauce, Rebel Moon Part 2 offers an overview of the current top films on the streaming platform, in France and around the world. The first episode also takes third place in the ranking in France.
Despite this ranking, public opinion is no more positive. Nearly 144 Metacritic users gave it a 5/10. In France, 575 people have rated the film so far, with an average score of 2.4/5. So mixed reviews. We’ll now see if its success will make us forget those bad reviews or if the film will ultimately be forgotten on the streaming platform.
