Volkswagen Navarra consolidates itself as the brand’s fourth largest factory in the world in terms of production volume

PAMPLONA, 3rd En. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Volkswagen Navarra ended 2023 as the fourth largest factory in the world in terms of production volume among the seventeen Volkswagen brand factories, behind only Wolfsburg (Germany), Puebla (Mexico) and Bratislava (Slovakia).

Specifically, the Landaben plant produced 273,273 cars last year, representing 10% of the cars assembled in Volkswagen brand factories worldwide, the company reported in a statement.

If one extends the comparison to all vehicle production plants of all brands in the consortium worldwide, including China, the Landaben plant would rank eleventh out of 51 with 3% of the total volume.

The slight 5% decrease in production last year compared to 288,088 cars in 2022 is largely due to the adaptation work at the Volkswagen Navarra factories for the launch of two electric cars, a Volkswagen and a Skoda, during 2026 as well The lack of such car parts is due to the shortage of semiconductors and the flooding of a supplier in Slovenia in September.

By model, 118,956 cars were T-Cross, 82,256 were Taigo and 66,755 were Polo. According to him, since the launch of the new T-Cross PA on December 11, 5,306 units of this vehicle have been produced.

As for the engine, 55% of the vehicles were equipped with the 1.0 liter 85 kW engine, 35% with the 70 kW 1.0 engine and 10% with the 110 kW 1.5 -liter engine. 57% of customers chose the DSG automatic transmission compared to 55.3% last year.
