“Izïa’s words shocked me deeply”, written on Sunday, July 9th, in a press release spotted by France Bleu Nord, the LR mayor of Marcq-en-Barœul (Nord), Bernard Gérard. During a concert on Thursday evening in Beaulieu-sur-Mer (Alpes-Maritimes), the singer imagined during her performance on stage how Emmanuel Macron could be publicly lynched by the audience. The Northern City Hall plans to cancel the singer’s arrival on the occasion of a concert organized for the national holiday, Thursday 13 July.
A decision is expected on Monday
“The coming of this artist to Marcq for a public, free and family concert would be contrary to the values of togetherness that prevail on our national holiday.”, advance Bernard Gérard, who therefore plans to cancel the singer’s arrival. He explains that “A decision will be officially announced on Monday.”. His first deputy, Loïc Cathelin, also assures France Bleu Nord that he has received several calls from residents demanding the cancellation of the Izïa concert.
Also the deputy Renaissance du Nord Violette Spillebout, also an adviser to the European metropolis of Lille, to which Marcq-en-Baroeul belongs, expressed on Twitter on Sunday her opposition to the arrival of Jacques Higelin’s daughter. “I don’t think the Marcquois want to legitimize such an offense”she wrote on the social network. “It is not an artistic performance, but a call for murder, prompting an investigation into ‘public provocation to commit a crime or misdemeanor.'”she remembers.
The singer has not yet explained her appearance at Beaulieu-sur-Mer and has not responded to the controversy she has sparked on the right and within the presidential majority.
