PAMPLONA, Oct 2 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The trade union section of UGT in Volkswagen Navarra stated this Monday, after the second meeting of the collective agreement negotiating table, that it has been demanding the employability of the plant “for some time” and that this concept is now gaining “more” importance than ever before “, as they must maintain the same number of workers “from 2026”.

In a statement, UGT believed that management’s approach of dividing the coming years at the plant into three phases “makes a lot of sense,” adding that “the most important is the first (years 2024 and 2025).” “What we agree will make the remaining phases satisfactory.”

Likewise, the union has pointed out that the guarantees of an industrial project and investments are fundamental “for the future of our factory”, while ensuring that maintaining purchasing power is “an inalienable matter”.

In addition, he explained that both parties must take “the necessary measures” to get through these years with the necessary calm to face the challenge ahead: “ERTE, ERTE RED and training are a key element for the transformation.” We hope to find a meeting point and an understanding with the company for this,” he explained.

“The relief agreement is the line we have chosen, although we know that this depends on the extension by the central government,” the union said of the exit plan. “The relief agreement has shown that it is a very useful tool for workers, both in terms of economic and legal guarantees, and we will continue to support it,” he added.
