The story follows the daily life of a woman in a working-class neighborhood in Rome, Italy, during the post-war period. Mother, who is exposed to an extremely violent husband, one day receives a letter in her name that is the catalyst and leads her to her emancipation. On paper it is this black and white film domestic violence was not suitable for such great success.
