The Trame Sonore Festival in Mantua

For the twelfth time, the buildings and streets of Mantua will resound with music from morning to night for the Trame Sonore Festival, with numerous free concerts, a musical festival. In Pordenone, an exceptional conductor such as Kirill Petrenko (Berlin Philharmonic) will accompany the youth of the Mahler Youth Orchestra, founded by Claudio Abbado in 1986. In Milan, on the other hand, the ninth edition of the Latin Festival will begin, with concerts every evening with the best musicians from all over South America.

Mantova

From May 29th to June 2nd the twelfth edition of Trame Sonore will take place, a chamber music festival that makes the frescoes and architectural perspectives of Mantua dance, whose historic center is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. 250 artists, 140 concerts, 12 “plots”, guides, 16 hours a day of continuous cycle events from early morning to late evening in 30 different art spaces: Palazzo Ducale, Palazzo Te, Palazzo Castiglioni, Rotonda di S. Lorenzo, Teatro Bibiena, Santa Barbara, Palazzo D’Arco, Biblioteca Teresiana and even private historic houses, squares, alleys and convents. The artist in residence is the pianist Alexander Lonquich.

Pordenone

On the 1st, at the Teatro Verdi, an extraordinary concert will kick off the European tour of the Mahler Youth Orchestra, conducted by Kirill Petrenko, artistic director of the Berlin Philharmonic, who will be conducting the youth group founded by Abbado for the first time. The programme includes a cornerstone of the late romantic symphony, Anton Bruckner’s Fifth Symphony. With this concert, the orchestra will conclude its first stay in Pordenone, where it will return for the ninth consecutive year from 4 to 18 August.

Milan

On the 30th at the Blue Note, Cuban evening with the ConClave Sextet, a collective of talented Cuban musicians united by the mission of spreading their culture through a variety of styles derived from Afro-Cuban music, founded in 2015 by trombonist Humberto Amésquita.

From June 1st to August 15th, the Milano Latin Festival will take place at Acquatica Park; the first concerts will include Grupo 5, Lenier, Nacho, Los Van Van, Guayacan Orquesta, Diego y su Grupo Galè, Latin Brothers and Sonora Dinamita Maria Becerra.
