Stellantis’ European sales rose 5.9% in 2023, ranking second with an 18% share.

The automotive group Stellantis increased its sales across Europe by 5.9% in 2023 compared to 2022 for passenger cars and commercial vehicles of all its brands (Abarth, Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Citroën, Dogde, DS Automobiles, Jeep, Lancia, Opel). , Peugeot and Ram), which means over 2.7 million units and achieves a market share of 18.4% and second place in the overall market.

As the company reports, the market share of commercial vehicles is over 30%, which means that the company maintains market leadership in this segment at European level with a sales growth of 15% compared to the previous year.

Although final results for 2023 will be announced next week when the European Manufacturers Association (ACEA) publishes them, Stellantis has said it has seen a 14% increase in battery electric vehicle (BEV) sales compared to 2022. With a share of 14.2% puts it on the European podium.

The increase in BEV sales was driven by models such as the Fiat 500e, Opel/Vauxhall Corsa electric, Peugeot e-208, Jeep Avenger and the full range of BEV Pro One commercial vehicles (38.6% market share).

By region, Stellantis highlighted good performance in all major European markets, with growth standing out in the UK at 16.8% and Italy (10.6%). With 5%, Germany is the third best growth among the main markets, followed by Spain (+3.5%) and France (2.2%). Elsewhere in Europe, Stellantis reported “significant growth” in Belux, Ireland, Portugal and Switzerland.

Likewise, the company has stated that France, Italy and Portugal lead the overall market, while France and the Netherlands lead the electrical market.

The Director of Operations for Extended Europe, Uwe Hochgeschurtz, emphasized that the sales results once again confirm them as an “unrivaled competitor” for the first place in the market.
