On the way to the Comoros archipelago with singer Eliasse. His third album entitled Zangoma was only released on April 12th. Eliasse mixes the traditional rhythms of his country with current sounds.
Eliasse named this record Zangoma because it is the name of the musical style he adopted. It is a mixture of rock, blues and folk, enriched with the typical rhythms of his archipelago. The singer was inspired by another Comorian artist older than him and whom he considers a bit of a mentor: Baco.
Eliasse, who lives in southwest France, designed this album as a tribute to the music of Comoros. This small archipelago in the Indian Ocean has experienced turbulent periods since its independence in 1975. Several titles immerse us in these years marked by coups and disillusionment. The title ” Continue » for example, recalls the pain of an entire generation, while the title mentions the painful separation between Mayotte and the Comoros ” First of all ».
In this album he also takes a stand on another current topic: climate change. Several titles emphasize collective responsibility in the face of climate change and its consequences. This is the case with “ Mwarata ” and ” Salama ».
Eliasse will soon begin a tour of France. In particular, it will be exhibited on August 2nd at the Bout du Monde festival in Brittany, on the Crozon peninsula in Finistère.
