Bertrand Bonello, director of “The Beast”: “I had never really made a film about love”

Between science fiction and melodrama, The beast, by Bertrand Bonello, in theaters February 7, brings Léa Seydoux and Englishman George MacKay together in a passion thwarted by time. For three lifetimes, Gabrielle and Louis will try to love each other, in 1910, in 2014 and finally in 2044, at a time when artificial intelligence has taken control of the world and suppressed emotions.
