The Molières academy unveiled this Thursday the list of nominees who may leave on April 24 with a small golden statuette. The members of the Comédie Française approve the nominations.

And here we go again for a ceremony. After the Caesars last February, it is the Molières’ turn to unveil the list of nominees who, on April 24, will perhaps receive one of the prestigious golden statuettes with the effigy of the father of The miser a you imaginary illness. For public theatre

The Comédie-Française dominates the public theater with 11 nominations for five productions. Three heavyweights, Denis Podalydès (King Lear), Laurent Stocker (L’Avare) or Christian Hecq (Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme) will compete for the crowning of the best actor of public theater. As for actresses, Isabelle Huppert will be awarded Best Actress by the Audience (La Ménagerie de Verre) for the ninth time, a category in which she will join Isabelle Carré, Sara Giraudeau and Catherine Hiegel.

Two other members of Molière’s house, Benjamin Lavernhe (La Dame de la mer by Ibsen) and Christophe Montenez (Le Roi Lear) are nominated for Supporting Roles, and pensioner Marina Hands (Le Roi Lear) is nominated for Best Actress in a Supporting Role.

It is the Bourgeois Gentilhomme in the production of the couple Christian Hecq and Valérie Lesort that has received the most nominations (4), including the Molière for public theatre, staging and sound and image design. Finally, in the humor category, Florence Foresti, Laura Felpin, Manu Payet and Stéphane Guillon compete for the statuette.

For private theatre

On the private theater side, it will be about the battle between “Glenn, Birth of a Child Prodigy” (6 nominations), the fate of pianist Glenn Gould, “Big Mother” (5 nominations), a journalistic thriller, “The Persian Dolls” (4 nominations), a drama set in the middle of the Iranian revolution, and “When the Child Appears” (4), a comedy by Michel Fau starring Catherine Frot, nominated for the Molière for Best Private Actress.

In the end, three plays by director Johanna Boyer alone won seven nominations, including five for “I’m not running, I’m flying!”. Last year Clotilde Hesme won the Molière for best actress in a public theater performance and Vincent Dedienne won the Molière for humor for the second time.
