Ford is recalling 142,522 Lincoln MKC SUV vehicles in the US due to fire hazards

MADRID, June 2 (EUROPA PRESS) –

Automaker Ford is recalling 142,522 2015-2019 Lincoln MKC vehicles from the US market because the engine compartment fire hazard is caused by a battery monitor sensor that can cause some materials to overheat, the company said in a statement.

Specifically, Ford says it is aware of 19 reports of fires under the hood, even when the vehicle was parked and parked, but no injuries were reported.

For this reason, the company has advised the owners of these vehicles to park their cars outdoors and away from structures, while providing brand dealers and retailers with parts and repair instructions to solve this problem.

Specifically, the brand explains that a short circuit can occur in a 12-volt battery sensor, allowing some surrounding materials to overheat and cause an engine compartment fire while the vehicle is running or even parked.

To fix the problem, dealers will install a fuse in the battery monitor sensor circuit to prevent these possible fires.

Additionally, customers who are unable to park their vehicle outside have been asked to contact a local dealer or the Ford Customer Service Center in the US for additional assistance.
